Deka Gel Deep Cycle VRLA Solar Batteries - These are the best sealed batteries we have found in the world. We have been selling them in Africa for eight years with really fantastic results. They are made in the USA by East Penn Battery, the largest independent battery manufacturer in the country. The two largest sizes (4D and 8D) are made from 100% virgin lead and have extra thick plates. These batteries are rated for 1,000 cycles at 50% depth of discharge. Surrette/Rolls Flooded Deep Cycle Solar Batteries – For three generations, the Surrette family has been making great flooded batteries and we have been distributing them in Africa for eight years. These are true deep cycle batteries made in Canada, originally for the demands of the railroad and marine industry. Surrette has gradually shifted their solar batteries to the “Rolls” name, but many people still refer to them as Surrette batteries. They range in size from 100ah up to 3,000ah and are available flooded or bone dry. If ordering bone dry, we recommend a very robust, adjustable battery charger and considerable experience with commissioning batteries. These are serious batteries.
